Troy and Denver have an impressive pedigree … they have been breeding and keeping reptiles for more than a decade and during that time have become close friends with some of the world’s biggest and best herpers. It is this experience that will be interwoven into the pages of Scales and Tails Australia.
The magazine will have something for everyone. The kids are taken care of with a Hatchlings section, which will feature a story and question-and-answer piece written by 12-year-old Nikki Noga – a young Sydney girl who got her first snake at the tender age of five and who now has a menagerie of reptiles slithering around her parents’ home.
The magazine will also have:
- competitions
- event coverage
- your letters answered
- extensive feature articles on a variety of reptile topics
- overseas news and
- interviews with some of our top breeders, keepers and herpers from around the world.
We will keep you up-to-date with any government legislation or changes to bylaws that will affect the industry. And our resident vet is on hand to answer any questions you have on breeding or keeping reptiles in his column, For Pets Sake.
But, this is not just a magazine for the ‘who’s who’ of the reptile world, we want you to take ownership of Scales and Tails Australia – this is your chance to finally be the driving force behind a magazine on a subject close to your hearts. Tell us what you want us to cover, or better still if you’re a budding writer, send us a yarn! The same goes for those of you who are snap happy – send us your photos and we will do our best to include them. There will be a classified section where you can sell, swap and buy as well as a swag of other interesting bites – I mean bits! – and pieces.
One last thing … please be patient with us … our website is in its early stages, but as we get closer to our release date for the magazine, the site will be finished and ready and waiting for your contributions.
